Our Process

Our Process is Simple and to the Point.

  1. 1. Get in touch with us

Call or email us to start your next renovation project. After we discuss the scope of your renovation, we will arrange an in-store consultation to speak with one of our Designers about your project.

  2. 2. Share your vision with us

We will take the time to understand your needs and requirements so we develop a renovation solution that matches your personal taste and lifestyle. We will outline your various options and discuss our wide range of fixtures and accessories to determine what will best suit your home.

  3. 3. We provide a detailed estimate

We will visit your home and take all the necessary measurements to ensure your Designer has all the information they need to create the perfect space. This will allow them to produce a detailed estimate and give you the opportunity to review the costs involved at your next consultation for your home renovation project.

  4. 4. Follow up consultation

When you are satisfied with the estimate, we will require a deposit to lock in your date on our calendar. We will then schedule a follow up consultation at your convenience to finalize all the fine details and sign your contract.

  5. 5. We begin the renovation process

Once all details are finalized and the contract has been signed, your dream Ottawa bathroom or kitchen renovation is set. Since we offer the full suite of renovation services we manage sub-contractors, such as licensed electricians and plumbers, to save you time and money and to ensure compliance with all standards and government legislation.

  6. 6. Enjoy!

After we’ve finished the renovations, we’ll ensure that you’re completely satisfied with the final result before wrapping up the project.

Living Through Your Renovation

A renovation will cause some disruption in your home – the nature of the work and scope of the project will determine just how big or small that disruption is.

With a clear understanding of what is necessary to avoid costly mistakes and to get the job done on time and on budget, our professional renovators will work with you to ensure that everything goes as smoothly as possible. We will make every effort to minimize the impact on your household. You will get regular updates on the progress of the work and when you will be needed for decisions. Our team will be available on short notice to respond to any questions or concerns that you may have.

In preparing for your project to get underway, work areas should be cleared of furniture, drapes and art.
Protect your valuables by placing them outside of the work area and cover anything that might be harmed by dust.
We’re the Ottawa home renovation experts and want to make sure everything runs smoothly.
At any point before or during your renovation, please discuss your concerns with us as they arise.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does your warranty cover?

Our warranty covers workmanship within 3 years of your project’s completion date. Products are covered by our vendor partners and vary from item to item (ranging from 1 year to lifetime).

How far ahead should I plan for a renovation?

Most renovations involve custom cabinets which can take between 10 and 14 weeks to order. Measuring, designing, and presenting your project will take time as well. Generally speaking coming in at least 3-4 months before you’d like to start a large project is ideal. If your project is on a smaller scale, such as a tub to shower conversion, 4-5 weeks can be enough time to order materials in. Even though we have many crews, all projects are subject to installer availability, so the earlier you plan ahead the better.

How long does a typical renovation take to complete?

Every renovation is assessed with a site measure to confirm length of work, however most 3 piece bathrooms are 2-3 weeks, most 4 piece bathrooms are 3-4 weeks and most kitchens are approximately 5 weeks from start to finish. Items such as custom glass enclosures can add to that timeline.

What happens if you discover an unforeseen issue behind the walls?

Some homes have been previously renovated improperly; others have been damaged by a leak. Any issue that is found when we remove the gypsum board is assessed and quoted so we can ensure the problem is remedied before continuing. Examples of unforeseen issues include: mechanical in the way, structural compromise, lack of insulation in the exterior walls etc.. An addendum to the original contract with description of work and pricing is created and signed at that time.

If I need a structural engineer do you provide one?

Any time walls are being removed an assessment needs to be done to determine if they are load-bearing. If they are, we will put you in contact with an engineer who provides a drawing of what needs to take place to keep your home safe and sound. We also open any permits needed to complete the work.

Can I supply my own products?

We recommend you source your material through us as we can assure their quality and will coordinate timing. Any products you supply that we are installing will need to be CSA approved and any damaged / short shipped items will need to be addressed by you directly with the vendor. We deliver all our products to our renovation sites direct from the supplier or through our shipper / receiver.
