Expert turnkey services your condo community will thank you for choosing

Anyone who has ever contemplated the complexities of navigating a full-on condominium renovation project will immediately appreciate the value of having a professional turnkey contractor at the helm. Condo living depends on cooperation at many levels — the pipes belong to everyone, as it were — so keeping one’s community happy has to be a major consideration when choosing a contractor.

With more than 30 years of service behind them, the home renovation professionals at Westend Bath and Kitchen are the National Capital Region’s premier team when it comes to finding workable design solutions that involve shared services and infrastructure. Since the company manages all of its subcontracted trades, the delivery of materials is always coordinated with the progress of the work to minimize any inconvenience to other condo residents. The family-owned business also receives consistently high marks for ensuring attention to detail when it comes to keeping common hallways and elevator areas clean.

It was this promise of guaranteed quality service that brought Centretown residents Barb and Tim to Westend Bath and Kitchen’s 8,000-square-foot showroom to discuss a complete renovation of their new condominium with designer Kendra Brunet. As busy working professionals themselves, the couple wanted to ensure their vision of a bright modern look more in keeping with their active lifestyle was being placed in the right hands. It didn’t take them long to realize they had made the right decision by choosing Westend.

“With our schedules, we needed somebody to manage the project, bring in the trades and make sure the work was done on time, and to a level of quality that we wanted and expected,” Tim said. “This was something important that Westend offered to us.”

“Kendra was fantastic right from the get-go,” Barb added. “She handled everything so professionally, and that gave us a really good sense that she had everything covered. We knew nothing was going to be missed.”

Brunet would call upon contractor Rick Cleroux and cabinetmaker/installer Mike Menard, both skilled craftsmen, to turn her customers’ vision into a beautiful reality involving custom bookshelves and cabinetry, attractive and durable quartz countertops, and floor and wall tile choices to bring out the wow factor. For the living room, Brunet’s cohesive design framed the fireplace with a TV/media centre on one side and custom glass shelves and built-in wall units on the other to display unique pieces the couple has collected on their travels. In a separate room, Brunet designed beautiful floor-to-ceiling stained maple Deslaurier custom bookshelves to give Tim the relaxing home library space he’s always wanted.

“We had a really good level of support and guidance from Kendra from a design perspective that helped it all come together,” Tim said. “The refinements she contributed ended up being really important.”

Great examples of this are in the schemes created for the kitchen and bathroom areas. Brunet used contrasts to give every space its own identity, and introduced accents to add pop. Her guidance on the choice of interesting materials, such as the twin-faucet Duravit trough sink in the ensuite, brought elegance and functionality together in a classic look.

“Westend Bath and Kitchen exceeded our expectations in terms of professionalism, quality of workmanship and materials, and flexibility in accommodating our schedules,” Tim said. “We ended up with the place we always dreamed of having.”
